Check it runs. Then buy it.
CofferShield is a desktop application for Windows and Mac. It installs in about a minute, needs no account, and never asks for the network again. The requirements below are firm rather than advisory — please read them first.

Windows
Supported- Windows 10 (version 1803, May 2018) or newer
- Every version of Windows 11
- 64-bit Intel or AMD processor
- About 100 MB free disk space
macOS
Supported- macOS 11 Big Sur or newer
- Apple Silicon (M1 and later) or Intel
- Universal build — no Rosetta needed
- About 100 MB free disk space
CofferShield needs a window at least 360 px wide and 600 px tall, so it works on a small laptop as well as a large monitor. It has a dark and a light appearance; you choose which.
There is no download button, and that is deliberate.
The moment your payment clears we email a private link to your copy. There is no account to create, no licence server to check in with, and nothing to activate. The vault itself is the product.

One payment of $129. Handled by Lemon Squeezy; we never see your card.
Open the email
A private download link arrives within a few minutes. If it hasn’t, write to support.
Install, set a password
About a minute. Choose six words or more — the app tells you if it is thin.
Disconnect
Everything still works. That is the clearest proof your data never goes anywhere.
Already bought and lost the link? Email support@coffershield.com with your order number and we will resend it.
Your computer may not recognise us yet.
We would rather tell you now than have you meet it alone.
On Windows
You may see a blue “Windows protected your PC” panel. Choose More info, then Run anyway. This appears until enough people have downloaded the file for Windows to recognise it, and it says nothing about whether the file is safe.
On Mac
macOS may say the app cannot be opened. Right-click the app and choose Open, then confirm. You only need to do this once.
If either message makes you uncomfortable, please write to us before installing rather than clicking through it. The whitepaper lists the unsigned Windows installer as the single largest gap in the current build, and it is top of the roadmap.
Where it will not run.
If your computer is on this list, please don’t buy it. If you already have, contact us and we will refund you.
Windows 7, 8 and 8.1
Microsoft stopped supplying the display component CofferShield needs in January 2023, and stopped issuing security updates for those systems years earlier.
macOS 10.15 Catalina and earlier
The interface relies on layout features Safari only gained in macOS 11. On older versions the app opens but displays incorrectly.
Windows on ARM
Not built natively yet. Recent ARM devices can run it through Windows’ built-in translation, but we do not test that and cannot support it.
iPhone, iPad and Android
There is no mobile version. Your vault stays on your computer by design.
Browsers and Chromebooks
CofferShield is not a website and there is nothing to log in to. It is an application you install.
Linux
Not released. If there is demand we will look at it.
Read it before you decide.
Security Architecture Whitepaper
The cryptographic design, the trust boundaries and the threat model — and, at equal length, what this design does not protect you from.
