There are good password managers. There are good estate-planning services. There was nothing that held both, worked with the network unplugged, and could not be used against you by the company that sold it to you.
The problem, stated once
Most people have their passwords under control. Almost nobody has the rest of it under control — the policy numbers, the account list, the deeds, who the beneficiary actually is on the pension, where the recovery key for the hardware wallet went, which of your children knows the alarm code.
That information is not scattered because it is dangerous. It is scattered because there has never been one sensible place to put it. And it becomes urgent at exactly the moment the person who knows it is unavailable.
CofferShield is one encrypted file that holds all of it, on your own machine, openable by one password you choose and nobody else has.

The whitepaper argues against us
Its limitations section is as long as its strengths section, and Appendix B lists every defect the review found — including the ones that were reachable.
Claims are written to be checked
Appendix C is a list of how to verify each claim yourself: run the demo, unplug the network, watch the request count. We would rather be checked than believed.
“Zero knowledge” is declined, not claimed
The term describes a server holding your ciphertext. There is no server, so the phrase would be vacuous rather than earned. We say what is true instead.
