CofferShield is built so that we hold as little of your information as possible. This page explains exactly what that means, in plain language.

The vault itself collects nothing

The CofferShield application runs entirely on your own device. Your net worth records, passwords, seed phrases, documents, beneficiaries and every other entry are encrypted with a key derived from your master password and stored in a single file on your machine. That file never leaves your device unless you move it yourself.

We have no servers that store your vault contents.
We have no account system, so there is nothing for us to log you into.
We cannot read your data, reset your master password, or recover your vault. Nobody can.
The application contains no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or tracking of any kind.

The one optional outbound request

If you switch on live price lookup, the vault will send ticker symbols only (for example AAPL, VOO, BTC) to the price provider you have enabled, using an API key you create yourself. Your quantities, balances, net worth, passwords, documents and beneficiaries are never included. This feature is off when you first run the vault, and turning it back off returns the application to making no network requests at all.

This website

coffershield.com is a static site. It loads no third-party scripts, fonts, trackers or advertising networks. It sets no cookies. Your browser preference for light or dark mode is stored locally on your own device and is never transmitted.

Our hosting provider, Netlify, keeps standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested page) for security and operational purposes. We use these only in aggregate and do not attempt to identify individual visitors.

When you buy

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record for every purchase. Lemon Squeezy collects your email address, payment details and the billing information required for sales tax. We never see or store your card details. We receive your email address and order details so we can deliver your download and support you afterwards. Lemon Squeezy’s own privacy policy governs their handling of that information.

When you email us

If you write to us at support@coffershield.com or reviews@coffershield.com, we keep that correspondence so we can help you. We do not add you to a marketing list without your consent, and we do not sell, rent or share your email address with anyone.

Your rights

Because we hold so little, most requests are simple to honour. You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to support@coffershield.com. Records tied to a purchase may need to be retained for tax and accounting purposes. Requests relating to payment data should be directed to Lemon Squeezy, who hold that data as Merchant of Record.

Children

CofferShield is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page. Because we have no mailing list tied to the product, checking this page is the reliable way to see the current version.
